I’m a veteran racing cyclist currently living and racing in France. Cycling is my life, it shapes just about everything I do, and when people ask me what I do, I normally say that “I am a cyclist”. I’ve had some racing success over the years, but that’s not because I’m a talented athlete. In fact when I was tested at college while studying sports physiology I was told that I would never amount to much as a sportsman.
Just an ordinary bloke, who works hard on his bike. I write in the hope that I might inspire others to become cyclists. There really is nothing else that compares.

I’m also a guitarist with 50+ years of playing experience! I’ve played in all sorts of bands over the years, and still play now….a lot.
It’s like I’ve led a double life nearly all my adult life. Most people who know me as a bicycle racer don’t know that I play guitar, and most people who know me as a musician don’t know that I shave my legs and wear lycra! 🙂
Hi, saw an old post of yours on Single track and was wondering if you could help with bike routes around the Limousin region.
We have family that live in Argenton and while visiting wouldn’t mind getting out on the bike.
Spent a week with Trail Addiction last year riding in the Alps. That has created a real addiction to French routes and culture.
