Bennetti’s Jazz n Blues Club is 3 years old. To celebrate we are doing a special ‘session’ at La Ferme Saint Michel, Confolens on 3rd April, starting at 5pm.
We’ve got a fabulous line-up of musos. There’ll be the usual suspects but there will also be some world class musicians joining in….I kid you not! You must be there! No need to book, just come along on the day. It’s free to get in (voluntary contribution towards expenses expected). There’ll be limited edition T-Shirts on sale. There will also be a bar.

If you are looking for some Jazz and Blues action in the Haute Vienne, Charente area of France, then Bennetti’s Jazz n Blues Club could be the place for you. We usuall meet on the last Thursday of each month. All players of all abilities are very welcome, all I ask is that you contact me first so that I can fit you in where you’ll be happiest. Bennetti’s Jazz n Blues Club is primarily for musicians, our aim is, “to create a warm loving environment in which like minded musicians can meet, play, share, grow, and get hip!”, having said that, all fans of jazz n blues are welcome.

The 2016, 59th edition of the Festival de Confolens runs from the 10th to the 15th August…..and The Sugaree Band have managed to snag a spot on the main outdoor stage on the final day! WhooOOOOooOO!!! Details soon! 🙂

A Bennetti’s Jazz n Blues Club special! On the 14th July at the Golf de Saint Junien, starting around 1:30pm. A fabulous selection of handpicked Jazz n Blues hot shots playing whatever takes their fancy! If you only come to one Jazz n Blues session in France this year, make it this one!
Three gigs, three different line-ups, three different sets!
1. Thursday 25th June @ the Soleil Couchant. Bennetti’s Jazz n Blues Club.
Playing outside on the terrace, a mix of Jazz n Blues, with a mix of musicians. We’ll be playing all sorts, and it should be a great night.
2. Saturday 27th June @ Nuit en Fete Exideuil. The Sugaree Band. The new band, but missing the other new guitarist as he can’t make it!!! We’ll be playing opposite the Rivage Restaurant at the top of the town from 9pm. 3eme Div, a French punk band are on before us, and Je Dis Jazz, an ex-pat Jazz band are on after us. There’s fireworks at midnight, and festival happenings throughout the evening.
3. Sunday 28th June @ La Charrette, Benest. Jazz a la Carte, playing on the terrace from 2pm. Jazz a la Carte is the Jazz trio that I joined. There’s Lynn Garner (vocals), Brad Lang (bass, vocals), and me on guitar. I joined them a little while ago. Didn’t want to mention it too soon in case I couldn’t cut it. Lynn and Brad are fabulous pro’ musicians, it’s a real treat for me to play with them.
Then top all that off with a party on Sunday night at a musician friend’s house……the life of Riley eh?
The Jazz n Blues session at Le Soleil Couchanton 30th April was one of the best yet. We had more players than ever, really experienced players!

The next scheduled session is on the 14th July at the Golf de Saint Junien, though I might try and organise something before that. As it happens I’m off to the seaside next week to see if I can pick up a couple of gigs on the coast….West Coast that is…can’t get no more jazzier than that! Watch this space! 🙂
